OVO is excited to announce that we will be opening the Housing Choice Voucher Program Section 8 waiting list for Jennings County ONLY from November 2-30, 2016. Section 8 provides rental assistance to very low-income individuals and families. Applications will only be available after the official opening at 9am on 11/2/16. Any applications received after 11/30/16 will not be accepted. Applicants must present a picture ID.

You may complete an application at the main office of Valley Court Apartments, located at 500 Hayden Pike in North Vernon, from 9am to 3pm on the following dates:
November 2-4th
November 7th
November 10th
November 17th
November 21st
November 29-30th

Applications will also be available at OVO’s Administration Office, located at 421 Walnut Street, in Madison, throughout the month of November, Monday through Friday, 8am-4pm.

In order to apply for Section 8, applicants must first be placed on a waiting list for a voucher. There are a very limited number of vouchers available for each county. Families should plan to be on the waiting list for 1-4 years. Assistance is awarded on a first-come-first-serve basis and by a preference system.

The opening of the waiting list applies only to Jennings County.  Our Jefferson and Scott County waiting lists still remain closed at this time.
