Here are some of the great successes we had during the month of September:
• Thirty names were pulled from the Housing Choice Voucher Program (Section 8) waiting list! As always, we are thrilled at the opportunity to help new families secure quality housing!
• Head Start welcomed our little students for their first day of school and the beginning of a great school year!
• The 18th Annual Hispanic Cultural Awareness Festival was held at the Broadway Fountain in Downtown Madison. The event is hosted each fall by La Casa Amiga and is open to the entire community. The festival featured delicious food, live music, and beautiful dancing. We were lucky to have nice weather that led to an excellent turnout!
• Crystal and Ashley, Teacher Assistant/Bus Drivers at our Hanover (J2) Center earned their CDL license!
• In September, we helped nine families find safe and affordable housing through the Housing Choice Voucher Program (Section 8).
• Energy Assistance mailed over 2,500 applications for our Winter Program! We are incredible grateful to MPS Printing for preparing our applications and to the Madison Area Chamber of Commerce for their bulk mailing services that saved us postage costs!
• The Weatherization Assistance Program 58 completions
• Executive Director, Elaina Freeman, gave a great presentation at the Madison Area Chamber’s Work It Wednesday event.
